 | League Benches Smith 10 Games, Illegal Drug Use
Thursday, October 10th, 2013: The Montreal Admirals told the press today at a news conference at Montreal Municipal Field that starting pitcher Matt Smith would soon begin serving a 10-game suspension for using an illegal controlled substance in violation of league rules.
The club official said, "Matt will not contest this and will accept the punishment. He acknowledged his error and vowed not to do this again. We, as an organization, do not condone this conduct and will do all we can to keep this from occurring in the future."

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013: Arnold Norton had an impressive 2013 season against Western League pitchers and was acclaimed the league's Outstanding Hitter Award winner today.
The Paradise right fielder hit .366 and collected 156 hits, 6 home runs, 74 RBIs and scored 94 times to win the coveted trophy.
